Good morning from The Seawall. Moss Point is throwing itself a 125-year birthday at Riverfront Park this weekend — a two-day run of free pontoon rides, a Trash Pot Cookoff, a brand-new Moss Point Idol contest, classic cars, kids zones, and Gulf Coast bands. It's the centerpiece of one of the loudest weekends the Coast has put up this spring.

It's also a weekend with weather. Friday afternoon turns wet. Saturday opens stormy and stays cool and breezy with gusts to 30. Sunday is the only sun day — bookmark it for the Pass Christian Tour of Homes, the Muttley Mayhem fundraiser at HSSM, or whatever brunch you've been avoiding because it's been too gorgeous outside on weekends.

Music-wise, Collective Soul plays Margaritaville Saturday night, and Kathleen Madigan brings her Day Drinking Tour to the Beau Rivage Theatre the same night. Plus the usual run of house bands and brunch jazz — Ground Zero is going four days deep again.

Here's the rundown — events first, then everything live and loud.

House of the Week — 200 Carroll Avenue, Bay St. Louis · circa 1895-1900 · $1,450,000

The cottage you've already admired on the BSL Holiday Home Tour — on a street that's been on the National Register since 1977.

200 Carroll Avenue is one of those addresses you'd recognize before you'd recognize the street name — a meticulously restored late-1800s cottage on Carroll's live-oak-lined boulevard. One block off the Bay, three blocks from the marina and boat launch, a comfortable walk to the Old Town shops and the Depot entertainment district. Three bedrooms, three baths, 2,496 square feet, listed on Compass for $1.45 million. The house has been featured multiple times on the BSL Holiday Home Tour and written up in the Sun Herald and nola.com — that combination of provenance, location, and walkability is what makes it a cornerstone of the historic district whenever it's on the market.

🐾 Pet Adoption of the Week — Jackson County Animal Shelter

Tater Tot

Meet Tater Tot10 weeks old, female, Labrador Retriever, currently roughly the size of an actual tater tot. She just landed at JCAS in Gautier (less than a day in the kennel as of this writing), and her file is still mostly question marks: good with cats? Unknown. Good with other dogs? Unknown. House trained? Unknown. That's the rest of her story to write with whoever takes her home.

The shelter put her bottom line right on her own card, and it's worth quoting straight: "By adopting me today you will save the life of two pets — you'll save me, and that will make room for the Shelter to rescue and save another pet." Two for one.

Animal ID: A2026171 · Adoption fee: $50 (covers spay, vaccinations, worming, a vet exam, and a name tag).

LOW TIDE LAUGHS

A Coast newsletter should probably make room for at least one thing that doesn’t ask anything from you except a smirk.

So we are.

Cinco de Mayo on the Gulf Coast looks a little different down at the harbor. This week's Low Tide Laughs finds two locals marking the occasion in their own way.
